AMS Q-Bank stores the minimum it needs to work, and nothing is shared or sold.
- Your email address, to sign you in and to confirm it belongs to you. Accounts are limited to Brown addresses.
- Your answers: which questions you have done, whether you got them right, which you flagged, and the checkmarks you set on each lecture. This is what makes Review and the progress column work.
- Reports and feedback you send, with your name attached so an editor can follow up.
There is no advertising, no analytics script, and no third-party tracking. A single cookie keeps you signed in. Editors can see the reports you send; they cannot see your individual answers.
How answer data is used
Answers are analysed in aggregate to improve the questions: which ones are missed most, which options mislead, how long they take. The same aggregate data may be used for research on how students use a question bank. Analysis is done on de-identified data, results are reported only as aggregates, and no individual's answers are ever shown to anyone. After a question, you see only how many classmates have tried it and whether it proved hard for the class as a whole, never who got what.
